I am a daughter of the King, in essence a princess. No, not in that bratty - give me, I want and you WILL sort of way. But, in standards, accountability, dignity and hopefully humility.
1 Timothy 6:14-16
14that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which He will bring about at the proper time-- He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
He paid the ultimate price for me, and rose again into life. What a fool I'd be, to not attempt to live in a manor that would bring Him glory and honor. You see, I've had a living example in my life - of death. Our youngest son, Ethan passed away (one of those thorns on the rose bush, that has made me look at life, in a much different light). Ethan's passing, did nothing life changing for humanity. However, it made me examine what God (and even Mary) saw, as His/Her Son hung on the cross, and was bludgeoned to death, and how victorious He was to conquer the grave. As I pondered these things, I was humbled by His grace and even more disgusted with myself and the "mundane christian walk", I was living. I felt as though, I had spat in His face, unwilling to dominate the flesh. And yet, I am not foolish enough to believe that I am perfect, that I've made it or that I always rise to the standard. But, I don't dwell on it. I ask him for forgiveness, thank Him for his righteousness, make the necessary changes (repentance), and move forward.
Our oldest (back then). She would introduce herself as Princess ...
I pray that my daughter catches hold of that fact, that she understands she is a joint heir with Christ. That she would understand her worth and count the cost of influences, she allows to speak into her life.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
…17"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. 18"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.
Our oldest (now). Attempting to grow up, but still willing
to put up with mom's need for the princess. 12th b-day at
Walt Disney World. June 2013
Too often, young and and old alike seek out and fill themselves with "junk". Sure, we often tell ourselves that we are studying the trends of the time, staying abreast of current events - that we might "help", those around us. Or worse, we try "that thing" and call it "living and learning". Yes. Great. Learn from your mistakes, but don't seek them out. You CAN learn from others and save yourself the heartache. Don't let history repeat itself, it rarely ends differently.
Romans 16:18-20
…18For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
"Father, I pray that I am not just writing words to fill spaces. But, that I am inspired by you, to inspire and give your hope to others. I thank you, Lord - that you make old things new. I praise you, for you have taken the old and tattered me and replaced it with you. For those that would read this, I pray that there is an impartaion of an awakening of hope, a desire to glorify and worship you, as we learn to become a living sacrifice. That we would begin to walk in a boldness of declaring you are God alone, and because we are heirs, we too can walk in your righteousness and glory. Amen."
