Blogity, Blog, BLAH....

Have I mentioned I am a property manager? Well, I am. Which means the first of the month can be greatly taxing and leaves little room for anything I would want to do. I've not reached out  to anyone of the 4 people I would like to interview regarding the princess. Since, you didn't know that I am a property manager, then you might not know...

1). My husband and I are the Youth Directors at the church we attend. We are at our best as a couple when we are ministring together.
2). We have a start up insurance agency. My husband has a sense of adventure (that I don't share), but because of  that and his willingness, dedication and hard work - this is gonna payoff!
3). Our children attend a charter school. The Principal of the school was my husbands Principal.
4). I was nominated (out of spite :) ) for Lyceum Leadership Candidate within our local apartment association.
5). I am into clean eating, natural remedies (www.youngliving.org/jcine1) and non chemical products. This means, I make all 3 meals for the day (we are probably 80/20 on the clean foods... maybe 90/10), our snacks are either homemade or fruit and nuts, I make a majority of our cleaning products and a few of our toiletries.
6). My mom homeschooled us, and waited until I graduated to make me her bestfriend (second best, Dad is her actual BFF). We have a lot of fun together, and can probably get the biggest rise out of eachother.
7). I crave workouts and get VERY moody when my schedule doesn't allow for them.
8). I've always admired my lil brother. Even when we lived at home and it was required that I pick on him.
9). "This line (page) intentionally left blank" <---- that annoys me.
10). I "observe" those who grieve.

Now, tell me something about yourself?

Princess of the Yellow Rose - A True Fairytale Pt. 1

That's right, a Princess lived among the commoners of Amarillo (read, In a far off land...). I happened upon this story during my Provisional year in Junior League of Amarillo (laugh if you must, I enjoyed it). My Provisional year was cut short. I discovered that I needed to better prioritize family time (that is not the point of this story, and this is crossed out). As, I was saying... I was hostessing a home for the Saint Andrew's Tour of Homes. My hostess duties included informing the visitors of the history and some fun facts of the home. As such, Richard Ware the home owner, gave all of us hostesses a tour. While the others chatted amongst themselves, I was instantly captivated. He mentioned a man, who had gone to design school in Oklahoma. He had earned a scholarship to study design in Paris, but was unable to do so because of the war. So, he continued to study in New York. Then he enlisted in the U.S Army as a Captain and later became a Monuments Man. He would assist Prince Ludwig Von Hesse-Darmstadt and his family in retrieving lost objects of art, seized from the family homes castles (let's face it "castles" sounds so much cooler). His name, was Clyde Harris. Seriously, I felt like I was at story time in the library. I instantly knew, I HAD to know more.

It's been 10 years, since that tour. The excitement has not waned. Over the past few years, I've thought about, mentioned and dreamt about writing a book about it. I mentioned it to a friend, a little over a year ago. It turned out, her husband knows the Princess' family and even got to go to a family castle in Germany for the christening of her grandson. WOW! A couple of weeks ago, Dad and I were talking and he said, "Why don't you write a blog about it".

Kudos, to this man, my Dad - for encouraging me to follow a dream, just
taking a different avenue.

So, here we are. I am in the process of getting more information. Rights to pictures. Interviews. There. Is. SO. Much. To. Be. Done. But, if you'll take this journey with me - I think it will all be worth it.

The King's Daughter - A Devotion

I am a daughter of the King, in essence a princess. No, not in that bratty - give me, I want and you WILL sort of way. But, in standards, accountability, dignity and hopefully humility.

1 Timothy 6:14-16
14that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15which He will bring about at the proper time-- He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

He paid the ultimate price for me, and rose again into life. What a fool I'd be, to not attempt to live in a manor that would bring Him glory and honor. You see, I've had a living example in my life - of death. Our youngest son, Ethan passed away (one of those thorns on the rose bush, that has made me look at life, in a much different light). Ethan's passing, did nothing life changing for humanity. However, it made me examine what God (and even Mary) saw, as His/Her Son hung on the cross, and was bludgeoned to death, and how victorious He was to conquer the grave. As I pondered these things, I was humbled by His grace and even more disgusted with myself and the "mundane christian walk", I was living. I felt as though, I had spat in His face, unwilling to dominate the flesh. And yet, I am not foolish enough to believe that I am perfect, that I've made it or that I always rise to the standard. But, I don't dwell on it. I ask him for forgiveness, thank Him for his righteousness, make the necessary changes (repentance), and move forward.

Our oldest (back then). She would introduce herself as Princess ...

I pray that my daughter catches hold of that fact, that she understands she is a joint heir with Christ. That she would understand her worth and count the cost of influences, she allows to speak into her life.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18
17"Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. 18"And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.

Our oldest (now). Attempting to grow up, but still willing
to put up with mom's need for the princess. 12th b-day at

Too often, young and and old alike seek out and fill themselves with "junk". Sure, we often tell ourselves that we are studying the trends of the time, staying abreast of current events - that we might "help", those around us. Or worse, we try "that thing" and call it "living and learning". Yes. Great. Learn from your mistakes, but don't seek them out. You CAN learn from others and save yourself the heartache. Don't let history repeat itself, it rarely ends differently.

Romans 16:18-20
18For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 20The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

"Father, I pray that I am not just writing words to fill spaces. But, that I am inspired by you, to inspire and give your hope to others. I thank you, Lord - that you make old things new. I praise you, for you have taken the old and tattered me and replaced it with you. For those that would read this, I pray that there is an impartaion of an awakening of hope, a desire to glorify and worship you, as we learn to become a living sacrifice. That we would begin to walk in a boldness of declaring you are God alone, and because we are heirs, we too can walk in your righteousness and glory. Amen."

In a far off land...

... Called Yellow Rose Amarillo, there lived a young maiden. Just kidding, I won't write like that. However, I do often narrate my life, as if it's the blurb of a book (little known, odd fact about moi). I'm sure it's not lost on you, that a "fairy tale (pronounced /ˈfeəriˌteɪl/) is a type of short story that typically features folkloric fantasy characters, such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, dwarfs, giants, mermaids, or gnomes, and usually magic or enchantments."
Our fairytale family vacation. Disney World 2013
From Left to Right: My Brother, "Mini Belle", my
sis-in-law "Jasmine", Myself, "Cinderella", The Hubs,
The Hubs' mini me, "Fairy godmother" (Mom) and
"The godfather" Dad

I believe we are all living our own form of a fairy tale. It excites me to know of, and have the pleasure of sharing with you, those very stories. What if, I told you - a Princess once lived in this town, I call Yellow Rose????

To be continued...
